Who do we want running IVGID?
by Mike Abel
Mr. Callicrate was, prior to the beginning of March this year, well aware that he is term limited out as a trustee (12 years of holding one office) for the upcoming election. Despite this, he filed to run as a candidate for Trustee in the coming election with the Washoe Registrar.
The CONSTITUTIONAL ARTICLE on term limits Article 15, Section 3(2) of the State Constitution was affirmed in the Miller v Burk case of 2008 which Callicrate was also made aware prior to his filing for office with the Washoe Registrar. The 12-year rule was affirmed by Judge Walker in the brief hearing of 4/5/22.
Callicrate perjured himself when he swore to the almighty God to “bear faith, allegiance and loyalty to the Nevada constitution and any ordinance resolution or law (of Nevada)”. He was also heard to say in a no-so-private-conversation, that he was filing to see if he could “get away with it”. Is this the kind of leadership that we need at IVGID?
Callicrate also sought free legal advice from the Washoe County Registrar and District Attorney – anther violation of the laws of the state of Nevada.
I, Mike Abel, was the one and only person in this community to file the challenge to Callicrate’s candidacy with the Registrar. I want you all to know that some in this community are watching IVGID’s Trustees and will challenge dishonesty, corruption, waste and stupidity when we see it.
It is with gratitude that Judge Walker of the Washoe Court understand that 12-years means just that and supports the Nevada Constitution.
Callicrate should resign from his position as Chairman and Trustee here and now. His illegal play for re-election will bring continuous disgrace to this board until he is gone.
I campaigned hard for Callicrate in 2018 when he ran for Trustee. He campaigned as an underdog for honesty and integrity at IVGID. Instead, he became the poster child for lazy feckless leadership, and reckless spending. The insanity of hiring a resident shrink for the IVGID Board, at a cost of $60,000 will stand a testament to his stupidity.
I am just a citizen who demands integrity and honesty in government. No more – no less.
The candidates face many difficult and complex issues in the coming several years. We are entering election season and six candidates are running for 2 seats on the IVGID Board. We are assessing these candidates and will provide information as the election season progresses.
